The Transport Group was formed way back in 1972, so guys interested in transport could meet, go on visits, tours and arrange similar events connected with railways, buses, trams, trolley buses, aircraft, shipping and other forms of transport.
We also hold social events, garden parties and dinners. The group membership is mainly based around London and the South of England although some members live in the West Country and North Wales.
Meetings and events are held regularly to share transport interests, whether it be buses, trams, trolleybuses, railways, boats or planes, both historic and modern. Many of the group members are very well travelled, and give presentations of these trips.
The group is informal with no formal committee structure and the organisation of individual events is shared by the membership. Members come from all walks of life, with diverse transport interests and knowledge, a few even from the transport industry.
We strive to make every new member as welcome as we can, so if you wish to join us, please see our contact page for further information. The Group publishes a monthly newsletter giving details of forthcoming events, news and snippets of transport information.
